GCM is thrilled to announce that Thomasin McKenzie has been cast in Taika Waititi’s latest satire film set during WWII.
Thomasin is set to co-star alongside Scarlett Johansson, Stephen Merchant, Sam Rockwell and Rebel Wilson.
The storyline of Jojo Rabbit follows a socially awkward young German boy, Jojo, (played by Roman Griffin Davis) raised by a single mother (Johansson) – whose only ally is his imaginary friend, who he perceptualizes as Adolf Hitler (Waititi).
Jojo begins to question his patriotism when he discovers his mother is hiding a 16-year-old Jewish girl, played by McKenzie.
Taika said about the film: “There’s a message behind it, it’s very much an anti-war film, it’s got a real contemporary feel and contemporary sense of humour to it as well.”
Jojo Rabbit is set to be released in 2019. Read the Deadline Hollywood article here.
